Enduring Craftsmanship
Just as the story of this Welsh Marches farmhouse is one of centuries, the old mixing with the new, so is that of the furniture.
The frame and panel construction for this hardworking utility room dates back to the middle of the last millennium, but remains entirely relevant today. Similarly, the hand planed surfaces and scratched bead details are a timeless celebration of artisanal skills, that allow the inherent beauty of the material to be fully expressed in a functional piece.
We chose oak for its durability, quarter-sawn for maximum stability in a space with fluctuating levels of humidity. The framed and panelled construction of the furniture here is designed to both accommodate the natural movement of wood, and to age gracefully.

The practical advantages of heavy duty, full-extension stainless steel drawer runners in a working utility room are clear: these precision engineered components are rigorously tested for enduring operation and function supremely. Though outwardly of another era from the traditionally constructed, solid oak drawers we have paired them with, they in fact complement one another perfectly and give us confidence that our furniture will still be cherished in centuries to come.
